Kit Aircraft Acoustic Educational Info
Here at Pegasus Aeromarine Inc., we know that trying to figure out how best to acoustically treat your aircraft given the limited information out there today is difficult. Thus it became our mission to make this intensely technical process a bit simpler.
In addition to information on our products, we have included a robust educational section that contains discussions on what problems and solutions each area of a home built light aircraft faces, what it is that we are trying to do, and how-to tips. We believe that the more you know, the better we can assist you.
Of necessity, we have had to keep some parts technical but we think the information in this section will help you make a really informed decision; which is something very different when compared to pages in catalogs that just say "acoustic insulation".
Visit each of our educational areas for aircraft acoustics.
| Aircraft Acoustics 101 gives a description of what it is we are trying to do and why things are designed the way they are. | |
| We have also included At A Glance, Making An Aircraft Quieter. This is series of short, section specific pages diagrams that show briefly what treatments each area has and a bit on what we are trying to achieve. | |
| To round out our educational section, we have included a glossary, | |
| and a short tutorial on making your own templates. | |
| Practical Noise Solutions for Aircraft Interiors is an updated version of the presentation titled Light Aircraft Acoustics, which Dan gave at the 2005 Oshkosh. This educational presentation makes extensive use of charts and plots to illustrate the concept of "Why Insulate?", "What is Noise?", "What about Vibration?", and more. |
Good flying!
