Oshkosh Presentation... Practical Noise Solutions for Aircraft Interiors
Dan Newland's presentation at the 2005 Oshkosh, Light Aircraft Acoustics, has been updated and retitled Practical Noise Solutions for Aircraft Interiors. Dan is scheduled to present at the 2010 Oshkosh and will be available to answer questions. Since we have received a number of requests for copies of the PowerPoint presentation, we've made it accessible from this page for your convenience.
- View Practical Noise Solutions for Aircraft Interiors (PPSX file). This is a 4mb+ PowerPoint 2007 file which opens in a separate browser window (on most platforms), and is not recommended for dial-up users simply because of the length of the download. If you have an older version of PowerPoint, you will need to download a compatibility pack from Microsoft in order run the presentation. If you do not have a copy of Microsoft Office you can download a free PowerPoint 2007 viewer.
This educational presentation covers the following topics (and more). It makes extensive use of charts and plots to illustrate the concepts.
- Why Insulate?
- What Makes Aircraft Noise?
- What About Vibration?
- Design and Practical Tips
We welcome all links to this (or any other page) on the Pegasus Aeromarine web site, especially from flying clubs. However, please do not download and post Dan's presentation on your own web site, and please link to this page or the main kit aircraft acoustic educational information page (as opposed to linking to the PowerPoint file itself). There are several reasons for this. Obviously it helps us; we've put a lot of work into this educational information. But most importantly, it is to your benefit because we update the presentation periodically, and your web site viewers will benefit from access to the most recent information.
