Barriers
Barriers are a noise treatment and are exactly what the name implies, they block noise. Barriers must be non-porous since where air can go, so can noise. In addition, they must be heavy (bad news for airplanes) and should be limp to prevent sound waves from easily propagating through it.
Barriers must be tight fitting since sound will escape through ANY gaps, but of course, barriers (and any other noise treatment) must NEVER interfere with the controls.
We have two different weights of limp, vinyl barrier, .20 and .40 lb/sq. ft.
Our materials all pass FAR 25.853(A) - 12 second vertical burn.
If you'd like samples of these materials along with some more information about making your own kit, you may order one of our catalogs.
